Concealed-Desire_ByEdenSummers_200x300Book Cover Blurb:

A love that breaks all the rules…

Since her first day at work, Beth Graison has been in love with Dean Sutherland—the “Son” in Sutherland & Son. Although he’s an unrepentant player, there’s an unmistakable connection between them, and she knows he feels it too. But she’s not about to risk her career for any man, especially one with an office right down the hall whom she works with every day.

Dean Sutherland doesn’t do love, but he does do women. And he hasn’t felt more than sexual attraction for any woman until Beth. Entirely feminine, smart, and with a natural beauty beyond compare, she makes him think about all kinds of uncomfortable things—like a future and happiness—things he knows from experience are pure fiction.

When his father, the “Sutherland” in Sutherland & Son, propositions Beth to be more than just an employee, Dean can’t keep her at arm’s length any longer. But he doesn’t expect the scorching kiss they share, or the idea that forms when he holds her in his arms. Can he stop his father’s manipulating game by making the first move on Beth? Or will his reputation as a womanizer make him just one more Sutherland she wants to ignore?

Do you have a specific formula for creating characters’ names?

Character names are hard. I actually dug myself into an awful mess with my male protagonist in Concealed Desire. Dean Sutherland was a totally random name for me. I like the name Dean, then I tried to concentrate on a surname that would sound good as a business i.e. Sutherland and Son. Unfortunately it wasn’t until after the story had been contracted and I’d gone through edits that my brain started to function again at full capacity and I remembered that I not only used to work with a guy called Dean, but yep…his surname was also Sutherland.

So there have been jokes at my part-time employment about how the story was written about him specifically, when in all honesty I can’t even bring the guys image into my mind.
That was a thoroughly crappy learning experience :P

Now I use online name generators or go through the phone book to source names to fit my characters.

Fingers crossed I will never make the same mistake again.

Do you have any interesting writing quirks?

I eat when I’m stuck.

If I have a problem with a scene my initial reaction is to get up and get something to eat. Worst. Habit. EVER. I’ll sit down at my computer constantly chewing on something until I get past the block, then I’m straight back to speed typing.

How do you like your heroes and heroines?

I’m a lover of dominant, smart-ass heroes. I like my men in charge and maybe a little stubborn. However, they always need to be respectful to women and acknowledge their mistakes.

My heroines are typically highly feminine. I like women with sweet smiles and flirty eyes, but with a mind faster than a whip. They usually have a dash of sarcasm as well. Well…maybe more than a dash.

What does romance mean to you?

Romance means everything to me.

My life revolves around love. For me there is nothing more important. With it either being the love of a child, a husband, a mother, etc. Love is my world. So it is only natural for me to write about it.

I’ve only ever read romance books and I can’t imagine myself writing anything other than romance either.

My husband and I are soul mates. We fit each other completely and our relationship is a great inspiration.

What can readers expect next from you?

I’ve had a wicked band of rock stars in my head for a damn long time.

I want to get these sexy men down on paper and contracted as soon as possible. Only problem is that it takes me quite a while to write a novel in comparison to a short story. Remembering all the little aspects takes up a lot of my mind space. But I’ve penciled an outline for a 5 book series, and already started the first, so hopefully in the future these hotties will be in readers hands.
